WHAT

In Epic Exploring, YouTube stars and urban explorers Josh and Cody are on a mission. Together with their exploring friends they travel around the world in search of the most spectacular abandoned locations on the planet. They document and capture their beauty with their cameras, all shot in 4K HDR! Broadcast into 23 countries worldwide.

WHERE

The location was the epic ‘Sperregebied’ – the stretch of coast that runs down from Luderitz to Oranjemund. Still a restricted area, diamond mining has all but ceased due to the quality of the alluvial diamonds. We visited 3 of the ‘ghost’ towns outside Luderitz – the world-renowned Kolmanskop and the (in our opinion more impressive and ghostly) Elizabeth Bay (affectionately known as E-Bay) and Pomona. All perverse tributes to a past era.

HIGHLIGHTS

Another bucket list trip. Namibia is vast and uncompromising, and this trip brought it all home. The whole area is stark and incredibly beautiful – and carries visible reminders of the past. This was a tricky project, juggling Namibian permits and drone permissions – as well as securing access to the locations.
