WHAT

Agent Gwiazdy‘ is a Polish adventure reality show, where celebrity contestants get eliminated one by one until there is a winner. This is a 12-episode series (all shot in South Africa), and this was the first season. Production took place in January and February 2016 over a 7 week period.

FilmFixers involvement in Agent Gwiazdy was comprehensive. We handled all the logistics, including all transport (17 vehicles on the road plus drivers), accommodation for crew and contestants (who had to move every 2nd episode), all catering and equipment (lighting, rigging, special effects).

We perfected the setting up of ‘base camps’.

We built all sets and props – and backed up their production capabilities – all hands on deck.

It was a pleasure to assist such a hard-working unit – an incredible experience and baptism by fire!

Side-by-side along a narrow road with the contestants leaping from truck to truck, secured with innovative safety techniques. Road closures, angry fishermen – and civil disobedience in the area robbing us of our Police presence, meaning we had to man our own road closures.

All went smoothly.

WHERE

Filming in Blyde River, Kruger Park, White River, Durban, Pietermaritzburg, Drakensberg and Johannesburg, South Africa.

HIGHLIGHTS

Definitely the fact that South Africa and Film Fixers were chosen because of our proven track record. This was a nightmare logistical challenge – specifically because from original brief (via Skype) to the crew arriving for the research trip (recce) was 3 weeks. Over Christmas.

And the crew arrived and shooting commenced a week later. It was a mad scramble to identify, lock down and prepare over 35 locations in 5 different areas (Blyde River, Kruger Park, Durban, Drakensberg and Johannesburg).

We did it, with not one ball being dropped. 20-22 hour days were the norm, but we divided responsibilities and made it happen. Read their testimonial here.
