Mozambique Film Permit
Mozambique film permits begin with an application letter for a shooting license. This is done through the National Institute of Cultural Creative industries. There is a lot of paperwork involved in this, particularly due to the sensitivity involved around the national parks.
We have had many contacts with the BANP, and have good strong relations with our contacts there. Applications are usually filed 1 month in advance, however, we are able to speed this process up.
A shooting license is required from the INICC for a standard shooting license. Once this is granted, you would need to enter into a contract with the Bazaruto Archipeligo National Parks (BANP) to film around any islands/national parks.
The Bazaruto National Parks require you to enter into a contract with them should you wish to film in the park areas. A full proposal is required 30 days prior to the shooting, however, we can facilitate all that for you – including any paperwork needed. We have a ground team that can also assist and troubleshoot from that side.
If you are filming with a drone, a drone usage authorization license must be obtained from the Civil Aviation Authority. A copy of the license must be sent by email, and the original license has to be shown at the BNAP office located in Bairro.
We have the necessary paperwork handy (and our own drone – already registered) and we know the system pretty well.
