WHAT

Kobieta na krańcu świata (Woman At the End Of the World) is a Polish documentary television series broadcast on TVN. The programme is presented by Martyna Wojciechowska who visits interesting places all over the world and shows the everyday life of women living there. It premiered on 20 September 2009.

WHERE

In this episode Martyna travels to Durban, KwaZulu Natal to catch up with young Ella Addison, who has made an international name for herself because of her love of sharks and shark conservation. Ella has been swimming with sharks since she was five years old and the animals hold no fear for her. Part of her challenge is to champion the plight of the black tip sharks and tiger sharks.

HIGHLIGHTS

It is fascinating working with crews from around the world, getting to understand how they operate, and their idiosyncrasies. Polish crews are no different – incredibly professional and a pleasure to work with. Being out at sea – and in Durban was also a big plus. Although the weather was a little unruly at times, it all worked out amazingly in the end.
