World’s Most Dangerous Roads is a TV series produced by Warner Bro’s for broadcast on the Dutch Public Broadcaster – NPO. In each programme two Dutch celebrities are filmed as they journey by 4×4 vehicle along roads considered among the world’s most dangerous.

WHERE

In this episode, well-known actor, Tygo Gernandt, and rapper Akwasi Owusu Ansah take the wheel of a Toyota Hilux 4×4 as we travelled from Kwazulu Natal up the legendary Sani Pass to take on the incredible mountain kingdom of Lesotho. En-route they navigate the unrelenting landscape past Katse Dam asthey criss-cross the country, familiarising themselves with the Basotho culture and traditions – and the tough Basotho ponies that played a role in the development of the iconic nation.

HIGHLIGHTS

Any trip up Sani Pass and into Lesotho will be a highlight…. And to spend over a week in the country is an absolute pleasure. But, for once, the highlight was probably the preceding recce trip. Besides taking the ‘road less travelled’ – and truly screwing up the Pajero in the process – we also inadvertantly crosed over from South Africa into Lesotho without knowing it. Much to the surprise of the co=ustoms officials when we tried to get out again. THey were having none of it. Back we had to go. Poor Pajero.
