Filming in Benin
Filming in Benin presents such a unique opportunity to uncover a hidden gem. A mix of old French Colonial and modern mosques – not to mention extreme shifts of landscapes.
It is challenge, certainly without the local help. Unfortunately, because there is no industry or government incentive to get the industry off the ground, the local help is very slim. The process of getting a crew in is tricky because there is simply no infrastructure in it – but Film Fixers have our own people on the ground who help us get around these obstacles, making us your perfect Benin fixer.
The best time to film in Benin would be December until May- the weather is hot, but the tradeoff is very little rain.

ACCESS AND AFFORDABILITY
The roads in Benin are in good condition only in the cities and urban areas. Filming in Benin is unfortunately seasonal dependant – in the rainy season many of these roads are off-limits making transport and logistics a huge challenge. But you let us worry about that!
Filming of government buildings is very strictly illegal.
Film Fixers highly recommends crews let us organize our local drivers who have experience navigating the many notorious roads of the African continent, as this ensures a smooth and safe experience for everyone involved and no issues with traffic police.
CUSTOMS AND EQUIPMENT
The country isĀ not a member of the ATA Carnet system, and so crew will need additional permits to bring in film equipment from abroad. It is recommended that crew bring all their equipment in with them. We have the right contacts in the country to assist with all the documentation. Contact us to get more info!
