CUSTOMS AND EQUIPMENT
The country IS a member of the ATA Carnet system, and so you will have an easy time getting their equipment into the country.
Drones are allowed in the country, however, it must be registered through the National Aviation Agency (ANAC), which can be costly and time-intensive. Depending on your needs, it might be easier to hire a local drone with or without an operator.
As an emerging industry, there are a few good options for general gear rentals, but nothing too fancy (just yet!)
VISAS AND PERMITS
To film in Cote d’Ivoire, there is a process of documents and forms to fill in and submit. The Media accreditation and General film permit is submitted together before the visa. It can be overwhelming, however, Film Fixers can navigate this process on your crew’s behalf, as we have built strong relationships with the authorities over time. Allow Film Fixers to secure your crews’ film permit, or simply peruse our website for general information. Either way, we’re here to help!
Drone
The application process is done through ANAC, and requires about 2 weeks to process. Cost varies depending on crew size, location, and duration.

ACCESS AND AFFORDABILITY
Félix Houphouët Boigny International Airport is the primary international terminal in Cote d’Ivoire.
The roads in Cote d’Ivore are notoriously difficult to navigate with heavy traffic and the bustle – which you do not want to be caught in. The bustling cities and markets create a lot of traffic, however, the roads are in relatively good condition. Any crew filming in Cote d’Ivoire should be aware of busy streets, pedestrians and animals on the roads and lack of traffic lights.
Film Fixers highly recommends crews let us organize our local drivers who have experience navigating the many notorious roads of the African continent, as this ensures a smooth and safe experience for everyone involved and no issues with traffic police.
All that aside, Cote d’Ivoire is quite inexpensive to travel and film. Safety is a concern, and you should consider your security needs depending on where you will be.
